We're a fish & chip shop, not a data company. We collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't track you around the internet.
Who we are
This website is run by FB Hayle Ltd, trading as Lewy's Fish & Chips, 48 Penpol Terrace, Hayle, Cornwall, TR27 4BQ. For anything on this page you can reach us on 01736 759381 or at info@lewysfishandchips.co.uk. We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect
If you use the contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and whatever you write in your message. We use this only to reply to you. The form is delivered to us by FormSubmit, which passes the message on to our email inbox.
If you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 records anonymous, aggregated information about your visit — which pages you looked at, roughly where in the world you are, whether you're on a phone or a computer, and how you found us. We use it to work out which parts of the site are useful and which aren't. We cannot identify you personally from it.
We do not collect payment details on this site, run advertising cookies, build profiles of visitors, or sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We use two kinds, and only one of them needs your permission.
Strictly necessary. We store your cookie choice itself on your device so we don't have to ask you on every page. Nothing is sent anywhere and it doesn't need consent.
Analytics — your choice. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MGQ8VERV89) sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart. These are switched off until you accept them. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, the Google script is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set at all.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the link in the footer of every page. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
Ordering online
Our Order Online button takes you to a separate ordering site run by Takeaway Growth Agency at order.lewysfishandchips.co.uk. Once you leave this website, that site's own privacy policy and cookies apply, not this one.
How long we keep things
Contact form emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and then cleared out. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months and is then deleted automatically. Your cookie preference stays on your device until you change it or clear your browser.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we're using it. Where we rely on your consent — that's the analytics cookies — you can withdraw it at any time, and it's as easy to withdraw as it was to give. Just ask us at info@lewysfishandchips.co.uk.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your information we'll update this page and the date at the top of it.
